| At the start of an innovative 2006/7 opera season, ENO unveils itrs first major Verdi production in four years. Theatre director Connaill Morrison presents a visually sumptous staging of 'La traviata', setting the action of the iconic love story in late 19th century Dublin. The critically acclaimed soprano Emma Bell returns to the ENO to make her role debut as Violetta, while Rhys Meirion, one of the UK's leading lyric tenors, stars as Alfredo. British conductor Jonathan Darlington leads the ENO Orchestra, following his triumphant house debut in Eugene Onegin last year. |
