All Scots In London are encouraged to support London Scottish (Rugby) Football Club who are poised to return to the National Leagues if they beat old rivals Richmond on Saturday 31st March 2007 in the crucial London League One tie at The Athletic Ground, Kew Foot Road, Richmond, KO3pm, gates open at 2pm. With London Scottish 2 points clear of London League 1 and only two matches left, they take on the 'Auld Enemy' Richmond in a crucial promotion decider at the Athletic Ground on Saturday. A win will see London Scottish promoted back to the national leagues after a 10 year absence and a total regeneration of the club. An expected crowd of 3,000 (the biggest outside the premiership) will watch the one of the oldest fixtures in British Rugby and both teams battle it out for the Whyte and Mackay Bill and Temple Quaich. A Scottish victory will mean an unassailable points difference at the top of London League 1 and clinch promotion to National League 3 South for the exiles. After the disaster of administration for the Professional side in 1999, the club was reformed as an amateur club and demoted 10 divisions to Herts and Middlesex League 1. What has followed is a dramatic regeneration of one the most famous clubs in the world, securing 7 promotions in 10 seasons - until it is now on the verge of national league rugby once again. This will complete a dramatic and fabulous modern rugby story. With the support and major backing of Club Sponsor Whyte and Mackay and over 2,000 members, it has helped to put in place a professional infrastructure on the commercial and coaching side and enabled the club to complete its fairytale comeback. Regular crowds of 1,000 plus, packed events and a successful team has created a momentum and support that will make the rugby world sit up and notice. Special guests Budge Poutney and Kenny Logan, x3 course lunch with wine, whisky, competitions, auction, programmes and grandstand seats for the game. With guests and Ex Players such as Budge Poutney and Kenny Logan (also a Scots In London Ambassador) due to attend, and available for interview - A Scottish victory will mean London Scottish are back, yet they?ve never been away!
