The Royal Scottish Corporation, a 402-year-old charity for Scots in need in London, invites you to a very special reception to honour the Scottish Saltires, Scotland's national cricket team. Members of the team, which has qualified for the 2007 World Cup in the Caribbean, will be present at the reception on Saturday, September 24, at the City Inn, Westminster, London, which precedes their one-day match against Surrey at the Oval the next day. Proceeds from the reception will go equally to the Corporation, which helps first and second-generation Scots in need in London, and to the Saltires. During the evening, a raffle will include a signed Scotland cricket bat and shirt and other great prizes. The reception is kindly sponsored by: City Inn (http://www.cityinn.com/london/index.htm); Buccleuch Group (www.buccleuchfoods.com); Cheviot UK Wine Agencies, Glasgow; Loch Fyne (http://www.lochfyne.com/) and the Caledonian Brewery (http://www.caledonian-brewery.co.uk/). City Inn is offering special rates from GBP119 per double room inclusive of vat and English breakfast. Reservations should be made either through their website or by calling 020 7630 1000. The Royal Scottish Corporation traces its origins to 1603 when James VI of Scotland came to London as James I of England. Scots who accompanied him and prospered helped their brethren who fell on hard times in London, a tradition that continues to this day. |
Location: City Inn, 30 John Islip Street, Westminster, London, SW1P 4DD, England.
