Following a triumphant set at Glastonbury Festival and five stunningsold-out shows at the Old Vic, Rufus will make his return to the UK fora very special ten date October tour. With Release the Stars, his fifthalbum in a decade, Wainwright artfully establishes the intimacy he wasreaching for, while creating a work even more ambitious in scope thanhis acclaimed 2004 release, Want Two.

Release The Stars featurescollaborations with Sian Phillips, Mairus de Vries and Neil Tennant,who also serves as the album’s executive producer. His other recentprojects include composing the music for maverick choreographer StephenPetronio’s new work, BLOOM; guest-starring on the Pet Shop Boys’British live disc, Concrete and cutting tracks for the films Meet theRobinsons and History Boys.

On 23 Sept 07, he also plans to recreatethe Judy Garland set-list at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, exactly46 years after the legendary performance took place.
