The St. Andrew’s Day Dinner will be held on Thursday, 29th November, 2007, with our President, The Earl of Dalhousie, in the Chair. The Club Piper, Pipe Major Ian King, RVM will be in attendance on the evening

The Guest of Honour will be The Rector of Dollar Academy, John Robertson. Originally from Glasgow, he was educated at Jordanhill College School and Glasgow University where he read English. His teaching career started at Stewart's Melville in Edinburgh. He left Edinburgh for Dollar in 1987 when he was appointed Deputy Rector, and became Rector in 1994. He describes himself as being "obsessed with cricket" and also having a keen interest in theatre, reading, and travel. He was also Principal Examiner for Higher English in Scotland for many years. He is currently chairman of the Scottish HMC.
 
Cost:                                                   £55 (includes wine during dinner)
Dress:                                                 Highland Evening Dress or Black Tie.  No decorations.
Time:                                                  7.15pm for 7.45pm - 11pm

Members are advised to apply by return.  As the dinner will be held in the Johnnie Walker Music Room Members may invite more than one guest if they wish from the outset, up to a limit of two. The evening is not open to ladies.  Bedrooms are available at £97 including full Scottish breakfast and early application is advisable.
Members not attending the dinner will still be able to dine in the Members’ Dining Room.
 
In order to ensure equitable service for all Club members, The Caledonian Club adheres to the following policy regarding cancellations: 

Guests may be invited from the outset, limited to one guest, per member and an early application is advisable. The evening is not open to ladies. Bedrooms are available from £97 including full Scottish breakfast.

Dress: Highland Evening Dress.

Cost: £50 includes wine during dinner.

Time: 7.15pm for 7.45pm-11pm.
