The Caledonian Club has organised a Scottish Dance evening on Friday 26th October.
Glasgow University Women's Club in making up a table and members of the Edinburgh University are invited to do likewise - or just come along individually. The cost is £35 per head.
The Club has a great ballroom (normally used as a Members' Dining Room) with a sprung floor. The dances will be a balanced mixture of ceilidh and mainstream Scottish Country Dancing.
James Fairbairn, a member of both the Caledonian Club and the Edinburgh University Club in London is in charge of the programme and music will be provided by the George Buchanan Band.
There will be a champagne receptiion at 7.30pm, dancing will begin at 8.00pm with a break for the dinner starter - which will be served at round tables for groups of eight or ten in the adjoining Music Room. In addition a buffet (including half bottle of champagne per person) will be available until 10.30pm. Dancing recommences 9.00pm until 11.30pm.
The evening is informal so kilts and open neck shirts are acceptable - although Prince Charlie's and posh frocks are acceptable for those who want to dress up.
