The Sportsman’s Charity was founded in 1983 by former Scottish rugby international John Frame and David Maclean, who wished to help provide the opportunities they had enjoyed as sportsmen, for others less fortunate than themselves. The Charity has now raised over £2 million to help the disabled and under privileged with sporting activities.

Our principal target in the Championships is to raise funds to provide residential summer golf scholarships in Scotland for deserving youngsters; boys and girls aged 11-15, nominated by the clubs taking part in the Championships.
