The famous White Horse on Parsons Green is going completely Scottish for one night only; Friday 25th January, Burns’ Nicht.
Building on the great successes of five previous Burns’ Night parties hosted by Gavin McNichol in the upstairs function room, this renowned Parsons Green institution is inviting all of its customers to take part in this Scottish celebration. There will be Scottish music in the form of a highland reels band, an excellent array of whiskies, and a Scottish beer range featuring the delightful Froach Heather Ale and remarkable Harviestoun Schiehallion.
The White Horse will also be running a hearty Scottish set menu for the evening, with the obvious haggis, neeps and tatties featuring alongside Aberdeen Angus ribeye and salmon fillet in a mussel and fennel sauce. And Burns’ Night wouldn’t be Burns’ Night without someone to address the haggis, the pub has arranged that for you too.
The event will start from 6pm and will run into the wee hours, with the reeling starting at 9:30pm, or before if you’ve had one too many drams! Tables can be booked in the bar area, or the coach house, via the website www.whitehorsesw6.com, or contacting the pub direct on 020 7736 2115.
It is hoped that this will turn into a yearly event and become a ‘reel’ centre of attention for the Scottish community in London. There’s already a great amount of interest been shown so dust of your kilts and book your dinner now.
