I am delighted to be able to announce that as well as the UniversityChancellor, Baroness Susan Greenfield, and Dr Partha Dasgupta attendingthis years annual dinner, the Chairman of the Court of the University,Lord Penrose, will also be joining us.
The London Watt Club Dinner is due to take place on the evening ofTuesday 16th December, at the Royal Institute in London. Some placesare still available. The event is always well attended and is a greatopportunity for social and business networking with key individuals whoare working in the London area.
The details for the event are noted below:
Date: Tuesday 16th December 2008, from 19:00 to 23:00
Venue: The Royal Institution of Great Britain, 21 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4BS
Price: £45 per person - This includes three course meal with wine, guests are most welcome
Dress: Business dress
Speaker: Dr. Partha Dasgupta, Chief Executive of the Pension Protection Fund
“Global Crisis: Protecting Your Future”
Partha has a first class honours degree in Mathematics from Heriot-Wattand this summer received an Honorary Doctorate from the University inrecognition for his work with the Pension Protection Fund.
The Royal Institution has only recently re-opened to the public after a£22 million refurbishment creating an inspiring venue with a collectionof Grade 1 listed rooms. I would encourage you to book your placequickly as the event always proves popular and numbers are limited.
