In the spirit of connecting Scots, Scottish businesses and organisations and those interested in Scotland, Scotsin organises events which are open to members and also promotes third party events run by our supporters and contributors to the Scotsin network. We plan to significantly upgrade the look and feel of this area of the site to make it more visually attractive and user friendly so please bear with us during this transition phase. 2009: A Sinclair Odyssey

This Caithness project is an innovative year-long community arts programme offering several hundred young people the opportunity to extend their knowledge and appreciation of their local heritage. The project uses archaeological studies, the visual arts, story telling, poetry, historical re-enactment and street theatre in a series of events befitting Homecoming Year. This page will be updated as events are scheduled.

2009: A Sinclair Odyssey Events:

Sunday 22nd March
Caithness Young Archaeologists Open Day
Castletown Heritage Centre, 2-4pm.
The Caithness Young Archaeology Club will meet to discuss their forthcoming programme in conjunction with 2009: A Sinclair Odyssey. New members welcome. Age 8-16yrs (and parents!)

The Odyssey walks kick off in early May, visiting some of the most lovely parts of Caithness. The walks are free and a fantastic opportunity to see the countryside of Caithness while hearing about its history.

Saturday 12th September
The Gathering
An outdoor event which will include a clan battle! An event for all the family which includes plenty to see, eat and do! See how people from the castle lived with performances and presentations by the Caithness Young Archaeologists. Many activities to try including archery and a stint in the stocks!

The Celidh at the Castle
Date to be confirmed
An opportunity to see some of Scotlands best musicians in a spectacular setting.
