The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland is the oldest Professional Banking Body in the World. The London District is the only non-Scottish base.The principal event is the Scottish Bankers Burns Supper which is held every year in January at The Grovesnor House Hotel. There are also two other major events held annually - the Champagne Tasting and the Annual Ceilidh. In 2008, the latter events are being run by the Clydesdale Bank and RBS respectively.The club is predominantly run for those who enjoy the social side of banking.
