Vintage Kilts came into being by accident. Over a number of yearsguests to John Cugley's country house on the shores of Loch Awe inArgyll were desperate to borrow kilts for Dinner and then delightedwith the quality were keen to buy them afterwards and so a businessevolved.

As the late, great kiltmaker Bernard O'Hagan on Inveraray said ″ Wearwhatever tartan you want and whatever kilt fits you as there are noTartan Police.″ Bernard was a wonderful advocate of wearing any tartanrather than being straightjacketed into the Victorian ill–conceivednightmare of fixed tartans
