Chief Executive - Scottish Football Association
Job Purpose: To plan, direct, control and deliver the operations of the Scottish FAin fulfilling its mission to promote, foster and develop the game offootball in Scotland. Responsible to the Board of the Scottish FootballAssociation. Main Duties and Responsibilities: · Promotion of the game of football in Scotland at all levels. · To devise and develop organisational strategy · To drive all revenue generating activities to maximise media and commercial income. · Efficient and effective management of all operations. · Manage and be accountable for the financial performance of the Scottish F.A., · To maintain and develop relationships with all aspects of the media · To lead and develop major projects at national and international level aimed at raising the profile of Scottish football · To serve on international football bodies and committees (such as UEFA and the IFAB) as authorised by the Board. Person Specification: · Proven track record in leading and managing a complex business. · You are likely to be an existing MD/CEO wanting a new challenge, or an ambitious deputy waiting in the wings. · High energy, drive and determination, but also diplomatic skills to influence and achieve change. · As a high profile public face of the game in Scotland and anambassador for it outside the country, you will also require skills andexperience in managing relationships with the media. · You will be a versatile and persuasive leader, capable of building interest with a dynamic personality. · Your style will be hands-on, with considerable personal credibility and authority. · An interest in the development of football in Scotland, and knowledge of the game to support this would be desirable. Job Dimensions: · The total turnover of the SFA Group was £22 million for the financial year ending December 2005. · The job is about leading a complex organisation, withdemocratic structures which allow for the participation of footballstakeholders, whilst at the same time managing a commercialorganisation to generate resources for football. · Total number of employees is as follows: Core SFA Staff – 92 Hampden Park Ltd – 29.
