It's been a great year for Scots In London and we'd love to wish you and yours a very merry christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2007. Thanks so much for your continued support over the course of the year. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the rapid rise of SIL from 500 Scots at the start of 2005 to fast approaching 5,000 dynamic passionate Scots by the end of 2006 (10x in two years).

We're now the largest Scottish network community in London for events, news, business and social networking etc. Sincere thanks. There is lots planned for 2007 and beyond. Let's make it happen...

We've received a plethora of christmas cards from Scottish organisations in the Scotland, the rest of the UK and around the world, and you've been forwarding some on. We'd like to share our favourites with you - make sure your volume is up and sing along:
  1. Irn-Bru - SIL would love to get Irn-Bru on board as a SIL sponsor in 2007!;
  2. Scottish Quest.com (great new Scottish Board Game) featuring "Santa's a Scotsman...too many pies, not enough exercise, of course he's one of us!"! In two parts, both very good. Caution: not suitable for children or those easily offended;
  3. Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust - SIL look forward to working with PSYBT in 2007. And finally...
  4. Scottish Executive - Scotland Now - SIL look forward to working with SE in 2007. Scots In London couldn't end the year without saying a big thank you to our lead sponsors Whyte and Mackay, who have been truly fantastic (Ed: I hope it's a slick new bottle of W&M you pop in your shopping trolley for hogmanay).
Thanks also key legal category sponsors Maclay Murray and Spens and key charity ScotsCare for their help and support over the last year. We look forward to working with them and other supporters over the year ahead to bring you great events and promote the best of traditional and contemporary Scotland, Scots and all things Scottish.

Before signing off, we're delighted to announce Liam Alexander from Edinburgh as the winner of last weeks' newsletter prize for the most referrals. Liam wins a brilliant Scottish Quest board game (available in Tesco), kindly donated by Lynne Cadenhead, Managing Director of Scottish Quest.com. Have a "Whyte Christmas"! (Ed: excuse the W&M pun!)

We'll be back in the new year with the second annual list of Burns Suppers in London - let's see if we can top the 22 Burns Suppers listed last year. Please let us know about your suppers.
