The Royal High School of Edinburgh's London Club President Simon Card OBE (RHS 1967)and the committee invite former pupils of the school as well as present and former teachers to join the club. TheRoyal High School Club in London was formed in 1888. After meeting forseveral years it fell into abeyance and was revived only to fall againduring the First World War. The club started to function once more in1920 since when it has kept going. Your help in keeping the Club "aliveand kicking" would be appreciated. In 2002, the London Club had 57 paid members - a club record ! Asat Nov. 2003, the RHSCL had a mailing of 144 RHS FP's who left theSchool between 1925 and 1998 (mixed ages and many new/young joiners):32 from 1990's; 9 from 1980's; 19 from 1970's; 36 from 1960's; 22 from1950's; 18 from 1940's; 4 from 1930's and 4 from 1920's. The Club makes charitable donations to the School and ScottishCharities and also funds three School Prizes (donating £150), which areawarded annually at the Prize-Giving Ceremony. Annual subscriptions(currently £15) go towards the above and also contribute towards theinvitation of guests to our Annual Dinner. The Club provides a point ofcontact for RHS FP's living in London and beyond, across diverse agesand backgrounds, and facilitates further contacts with other Scots. Thestrong history and traditions of the school, alongside the friendshipsand the values, help to create the common bond shared by RHS FP's inLondon. Further details available from the RHSCL Club Secretary . Dr John Murray has written a history of the school, read an extract on the School's site, click to our shop to buy the book.
