Travel to Glasgow
Glasgow By Air : Glasgow has a
wide choice of direct flights from the rest of the United Kingdom, from
North America and from Europe. The city is served by two international
airports, both with easy access to the city centre.
Glasgow By Rail : There
is a fast intercity rail service which operates from many of the major

Glasgow By Road : Glasgow is at the centre of a major road and rail hub making road access for delegates and exhibitiors easy.

centre with daily flights throughout the UK, to Europe and North
America.

delegates arriving at Glasgow International Airport transfers can be
made to the cty by an express coach service every 15 minutes from the
airport to Buchanan Bus Station, costs approximately £3.00 per single

delegate transport pass, available to congress organisers to purchase
on behalf of their delegates.
Taxis are always available average cost £16.00 per single journey, journey time 10 minutes.
Airport
Meet & Greet Can be arranged through members of the Glasgow City Marketing Convention
Bureau who will arrange for a welcome desk at the airport and
co-ordinate coach transfers during key arrival times.
The airport is located south
west of the city, and operates RyanAir low cost flights to 20 scheduled
destinations. It is served by a direct train link to Glasgow City
Centre, trains run to Glasgow Central Station, a
40 minute journey. This journey is covered by the delegate transport
pass, available to congress organisers to purchase on behalf of their
delegates.

> Great North Eastern Railway (GNER) – provides 8 trains per day to Glasgow from London. This site

details on chosen destinations. You will also find information about
on-board services, passenger assistance and business travel.

Freedom of Scotland Travel Pass which are only available to
international travellers. You will also find timetables and details on
where to purchase and how to use BritRail passes. BritRail Passes are
not available in the UK and must be purchased outside the UK.
Edinburgh is only 45 minutes away and trains depart every 15 minutes from Queen Street Station.
The
main M74 north/south motorway allows quick, easy access to Glasgow from
the south. The Clyde Valley Tourist Route (via the A73, A72 and A702)
offers motorists a relaxed and scenic alternative through the South
Lanarkshire countryside.
Approaching from the north the M9 motorway takes you through North Lanarkshire to Glasgow, and from the east the M8 from Edinburgh travels through Glasgow city centre and beyond to the picturesque towns and villages of Inverclyde.
