4 tries, 5 points, return to 2nd place – job done on Saturday at The Athletic ground. A scrappy game with plenty of mistakes and a dominant home pack saw London Scottish get a much needed win under their belts and return to 2nd place in the league. Gareth Swales, a winger from London Welsh making his debut secured a brace of tries and skipper Alex Alesbrook and Melvyn lewis also went over to secure the bonus point. It wasn’t pretty stuff but it was a tough and competitive national league game against a dangerous Bridgewater team and it was all about getting the crucial win.
 
With Mounts bay winning with a last minute penalty at Ealing and both Cinderford and Canterbury winning – it means the 4 way race for the top spot continues, with Mounts Bay ahead by 6 points from London Scottish, who in turn are a point ahead of Cinderford and 4 ahead of Canterbury – Boy it’s tight at the top!!!!
