Children attend school in Scotland via the following structure:
Your child's education is paid for by taxation and administered through your Local Authority. All
children must attend school from age 5-16 although you have the option

Children can attend pre-school from age three to four and begin primary school from age five.
Do I need to register my child?
You must register your child for both primary and secondary school. Your local authority will tell you which school your child can attend and give you guidance on what to do next.
