London Scottish, who have been recruiting heavily ahead of the new season, will have their star signings in attendance when the club plays a warm up game against a Wasps XV at Richmond Athletic Ground on Thursday 28th August. Among the new recruits meeting and greeting the fans on the night will be Simon Amor, the former Wasps scrum half and England Sevens captain, ex Scottish and Saracens lock Iain Fullarton, and other former Premiership players Paul Volley, Mark Soden, Gary Trueman and James Brown. Former Scotland International and ex London Wasp, Kenny Logan, Director of London Scottish, comments, “We are delighted that Wasps will be returning to the Athletic Ground for the first time in 20 years. The game is ideal preparation for what promises to be a mouth watering season. We have ambitious plans to restore London Scottish to its position amongst the country’s elite clubs and have recently secured significant funding from a group of investors in a bid to reach National League 1 within the next 3 years.” For Scot, Ian McGeechan, the Wasps Director of Rugby, there will be conflicting emotions. “London Scottish has great roots in the south of England, but also tremendous links historically to Scotland and the Scotland team. The impressive thing about London Scottish is that wherever you go around the world, people talk about and know the club.” The prestigious pre-season friendly will kick off at 7.45 pm. As part of the exciting new London Scottish match day experience, there will be a family zone with face painting, BBQ, live music, rugby inflatables and a meet and greet with the First XV. Gates will open at 7 pm for what looks set to be a fantastic summer rugby event for all the family. Tickets cost just £10 and under 16s go free! Pre-match corporate hospitality is also available.
