The chance for a group of talented young musicians from Uist - the 'Flying Fiddles' - to play at the Cape Breton Festival has been scuppered by the collapse of Zoom Airlines, and they are now left with the task of raising £6000 to buy replacement tickets.

Dear all,

The chance for a group of talented young musicians from Uist - the 'Flying Fiddles' - to play at the Cape Breton Festival has been scuppered by the collapse of Zoom Airlines, and they are now left with the task of raising £6000 to buy replacement tickets.

If any of you would like to donate towards this eleventh hour fundraise, then please do get in touch with me.

Please, please help if you can - it's a chance in a lifetime for some very talented young musicians, and also it would be important generally for the development of Gaelic music - it would be such a shame if they were not able to make it after months of hard work.

Thanks,

Isla Rosser-Owen
