The chance for a group of talented young musicians from Uist - the 'Flying Fiddles' - to play at the Cape Breton Festival has been scuppered by the collapse of Zoom Airlines, and they are now left with the task of raising £6000 to buy replacement tickets. Dear all, The chance for a group of talented young musicians from Uist - the 'Flying Fiddles' - to play at the Cape Breton Festival has been scuppered by the collapse of Zoom Airlines, and they are now left with the task of raising £6000 to buy replacement tickets. http://news. bbc.co.uk/ 2/hi/uk_news/ scotland/ highlands_ and_islands/ 7587612.stm If any of you would like to donate towards this eleventh hour fundraise, then please do get in touch with me.
Please, please help if you can - it's a chance in a lifetime for some very talented young musicians, and also it would be important generally for the development of Gaelic music - it would be such a shame if they were not able to make it after months of hard work. Isla Rosser-Owen
