Venues ranged from Tower Bridge / GLA City Hall, The Mall, St James’s Park, to Tate Modern and the London Eye on one of the sunniest days of the Summer.

“Dance Scottish” week is an international initiative by the RSCDS  to encourage awareness and interest in Scottish Country Dancing.  It ran from Friday 12th to Saturday 20th September, 2008. Events took place from London to Los Angeles, from Inverness to Tokyo.

ImageThe London Branch (of RSCDS) also hosted an event – a special Scottish Open Evening at St Columba’s, Pont Street SW1 on Wednesday, 17 September from 6 until 10pm with live music from Scotland, dancing and refreshments. A chance to come along , and get involved – and try out some simple dances.

“Scottish Country Dancing is great fun and good for your health ”  says Chairman Jeff Roberston “ we’re keen to open it up to as many as possible. Dance Scottish Week gave us that opportunity – so why not bring your smiley face to any of our classes or dances and Ceilidhs . Its for all ages and all abilities."

The London Branch list details of the many Scottish dancing events in and around the London area on its website www.rscdslondon.org.uk

Lovely to watch and especially the seamless transition from one dance to
another. The competition judges said that the London Ladies looked very regal
and I agree.
